Teams that were added to your profile automatically — because official meet results listed you as a member — become part of your swim history and can't be deleted outright. This is intentional: it preserves an accurate record of your competitive history over time.
That said, there are two different situations this usually comes up in, and each has a real fix.
"I used to swim for this team, but I've moved on"
This is normal — swimmers often have more than one team over the years. You don't need to remove the old team; instead, set your current team as your primary team so it displays at the top of your profile and is used for current rankings:
- Click Manage on your profile
- Go to the Teams tab
- Find your current team and select Set as Primary
Your past team will remain listed as part of your history, but it won't be shown as your active team.
"This team is just wrong — I never swam for them"
This is different from the case above, and it's usually caused by a data error — most often a meet result that listed the wrong school or club. If a team appears on your profile that you have no connection to at all, submit a request with:
- A link to your Swimcloud profile
- The name of the incorrect team
- If you know it, the meet or result that caused the error
We'll investigate and correct the underlying result, which removes the incorrect team from your profile.
