Swimmer Comments
Meet Entry and Splash Comments let coaches and meet administrators share important details about a swimmer’s entry or splash. Comments can also display information about seed times and how they were verified.
You can access comments from the three-dot menu (⋮) next to any swimmer’s entry or splash in Swimcloud Meet Manager.
Meets Using Times Validation
When a meet uses Swimcloud’s Times Validation, both coaches and meet administrators can create and view comments to understand how a seed time was generated and verified.
Seed time links: The seed time will appear as a clickable link. Selecting it opens the original result on Swimcloud—perfect for proof of time checks.
Entry details: Additional context, such as Bonus Entry, Converted Time, or Override, may also appear within the comment view.
Meets Without Times Validation
Even if a meet does not use Times Validation, comments are still available. Coaches can use them to communicate notes or special instructions to meet administrators or other coaches—for example, clarifying an entry change, relay lineup, or eligibility note.
Adding a Comment
In your meet, locate the swimmer’s entry or splash.
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the entry.
Select Comments.
Type your note in the comment box and click Add Comment.
Your comment will appear immediately and is visible to other coaches and meet administrators associated with the meet.
Editing or Deleting a Comment
If you need to update or remove a comment:
Open the Comments section for the swimmer’s entry.
Hover over your comment and choose Edit or Delete.
Edit lets you modify the text and save changes.
Delete permanently removes the comment.
Only the user who created a comment can edit or delete it.
Best Practices
Here are a few common ways teams use Meet Entry Comments:
Proof of time: Add a quick note or link when you’ve verified a seed time through another meet.
Bonus and relay notes: Flag entries as bonus swims or add lineup details for relay events.
Eligibility reminders: Leave notes about qualifying standards or time conversions for meet admins to review.
Communication log: Use comments to record decisions or approvals—keeping everything visible to your meet staff and coaching team.
💡 Tip: Keep comments brief and factual. Comments are shared among meet personnel and are intended for coordination and recordkeeping—not internal team discussions.
Why It Matters
Meet Entry Comments keep communication clear and centralized. Whether you’re validating seed times or leaving quick notes for other coaches, comments ensure everyone is working from the same information inside Swimcloud.
