Time Standard badges indicate that a swimmer's time has met a qualifying standard for a championship meet. These badges appear next to times in Swimcloud and help swimmers, coaches, and recruiters quickly identify performances that meet elite-level standards.
How to Get a Time Standard Tag
For a Time Standard tag to appear on your profile, all of the following criteria must be met:
✅ The meet must be set up on Swimcloud with a meet administrator and time standards specified.
✅ Your team must be marked as attending the meet in Swimcloud.
✅ Your time must come from an eligible team (e.g., club vs. high school eligibility rules apply).
✅ Your time must be an official meet result (not manually entered).
✅ Your time must have been achieved within the meet’s qualifying period.
✅ Swimcloud’s ranking update process must have run (this happens once daily).
If you believe a qualifying standard is missing from your profile, please double-check that all these conditions are met.
Troubleshooting: Why Isn’t My Time Standard Tag Showing?
1. Your Team Isn’t Marked as Attending the Meet
🔹 Most common issue! If your team hasn’t been added to the meet in Swimcloud, your time won’t receive a Time Standard tag—even if you have the qualifying time.
✅ Fix: You (or your coach) can update this by adding your team to the meet in Swimcloud. 👉 How to Add Your Team to a Meet
2. The Meet Doesn’t Have Time Standards Entered
🔹 If the meet organizer hasn’t input qualifying standards into Swimcloud, tags can’t be assigned.
✅ Fix: Contact the meet administrator or Swimcloud support to confirm the meet setup.
3. Your Time Came from the Wrong Team Type
🔹 Some meets require club times, while others require high school times. If your qualifying time was achieved with a different type of team, it won’t count.
✅ Fix: Verify that your qualifying time was swum with an eligible team for that meet.
4. Your Time Was Entered Manually
🔹 Swimcloud only applies Time Standard tags to official meet results (uploaded from meet databases).
✅ Fix: Ensure your time was recorded in an officially sanctioned meet.
5. Your Time Was Outside the Qualifying Period
🔹 If your time was achieved before or after the official qualification window, the system won’t recognize it.
✅ Fix: Check the meet’s qualifying period to confirm.
6. The Swimcloud Calculation Process Hasn’t Updated Yet
🔹 Swimcloud updates rankings and tags once per day in a resource-intensive process.
✅ Fix: If everything else is correct, wait for the daily update to process.
