FAQ's: Swimcloud Highlights
Why do you limit highlights to these specific meets?
As swimming continues to grow, we’ve seen a wide range of requests for highlights, including many for meets that do not meet a true championship standard. Across different states and organizations, the definition of a “championship” varies significantly—what one group considers a state championship, another might define as a regional or invitational meet.
To ensure consistency and fairness, we limit automatic highlights to high-level competitions with clearly established national, state, or collegiate significance. However, we also recognize that some organizations have important local or regional meets that deserve recognition. That’s why we’ve partnered with governing bodies and associations, allowing them to designate specific competitions for Swimcloud highlights.
Other swimmers have highlights from a previous year's meet that my swimmer competed in—why is that?
If some swimmers have highlights from a specific meet while others don’t, it is likely due to when the highlight system was adjusted. In 2023, we changed our criteria for recognizing certain meets, such as LSC championships and high school sub-state championships. Some highlights may remain from before this transition.
Can I manually add a highlight to my swimmer’s profile?
No, highlights are generated automatically based on official results and meet eligibility. If you believe there is an error, you can contact Swimcloud Support.
What if a swimmer places in a relay event—does that count for highlights?
Currently, highlights are only awarded for individual top-eight finishes. Relay events do not qualify.
