When viewing a swimmer's times, you may notice various Time Tag abbreviations next to their times. These tags fall into two main categories: Time Tags and Time Standards.
Time Tags
Time Tags provide additional context about a swim. Here are the common tags and their meanings:
- X - Extracted time: An example would include the 1000 split from a 1650 freestyle. Note that not all times are extracted.
- R - Relay Lead-Off: The time recorded for the lead-off swimmer in a relay.
- S - Relay Split: The time recorded for a non-lead-off swim in a relay.
- A - Altitude Adjusted: Times adjusted to account for altitude.
- U - User Inputted Time: Times manually entered by a user, not from an official result.
- C - Converted: times converted from one course to another (eg short course to long course)
Time Standards
Time Standards indicate that a swimmer's time has met a qualifying standard for a championship meet. For a Time Standard tag to appear on your profile, the following criteria must be met::
- The meet must be set up on Swimcloud, have a meet administrator, and have time standards entered.
- The swimmer's team is attending the meet.
- The team the time was achieved with is eligible for the meet (ie high school vs. club teams)
- The time must come from a legal meet result (not user-inputted times)
- The time must have been achieved within the qualifying period
- Swimcloud's calculation process, which runs once a day, must have completed.
If you believe a qualifying standard is missing from your profile, please ensure that all the above criteria are met.
Common Issue: Missing Time Standard Tag
The most common reason a time is not denoted with a Time Standard tag is because the swimmer's team is not attending the meet. If you have a qualifying time for a meet, and a tag isn't showing, you or your coach can add your team to the meet on Swimcloud.
